We are proud about having being invited to take part in the New York Wine Experience - a three-day celebration of great wine. Attendees tasted an exciting variety of wines from the world's best vintners, including top-scoring bottlings and rare older vintages. The wine having being presented is our 2016 Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg Silvaner GG. Our classic Silvaner, 2017 Iphöfer Kalb Silvaner dry VDP.ERSTE LAGE, won "Star of Franken" at the Harper Competition 2019. Great success!

We are proud about three of our wines being awarded the gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2019: 2016 Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg Silvaner Grosses Gewächs (96 points), 2016 Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg Riesling Grosses Gewächs (96 points) and 2016 Iphöfer Julius-Echter-Berg Riesling Beerenauslese (95 points). At the new competition „Mundus Vini Nordic 2019“ our 2018 Iphöfer Kalb Gewürztraminer Spätlese VDP.ERSTE LAGE was awarded the “Best of Show” award (category “white wine sweet”). We are becoming member of FAIR’N GREEN, an official certificate for sustainability. FAIR'N GREEN is the system for sustainable viticulture. It covers the areas of management, environmental protection and corporate social responsibility. The wineries are yearly audited by sustainability experts and subject to the standard of FAIR and GREEN e.V. which puts forth high requirements in all areas of sustainability. We take good care of our soil, we love our vines and are doing what we can to support biodiversity. Being a family business for many generations we know the value of a healthy environment that we want to grant for the future of our children and our customers. The stronger a plant gets, the less protection it needs. That’s why we reduce yields down to 60 % and invest in a lot of hand work during vegetation in the vineyards to model the ideal proportion of leaves and grapes. Roundup (Glyphosate) and insecticides are 100 % banned from our vineyards. Greenery in the vineyards that we cut regularly, stores nutrients and protects the soil from drying. Hand work during the year and in the harvest grants high quality, because nothing can substitute the experience of a good team.

Dry Silvaner, Scheurebe and Riesling wines have been our family's specialty for generations! The original winery of our estate is located in the village of Iphofen, Franconia's 'historic treasure box'. It is the Gypsum Keuper soil that characterizes the terroir of our Premier Vineyard Sites, of which the Julius-Echter-Berg is the most famous. There, we carefully cultivate our vines, harvest our perfect, fully ripen grapes and then lovingly guide our young wines to emerge as distinctively unique wines that will enrich your life.
